Requirements
  • Have access to a PC and fast internet connection in order to complete this course. System requirements: Windows 7, 8, 10. Updated Browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera. Desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile views are available.
  • Be IT literate, i.e. access, browse and navigate through the learning platform, create,edit and submit documents, play/download audios/videos, use email, video chat etc.
  • Be 16+ years of age.
  • Commit to a learning/assessment schedule in order to complete the course successfully. Estimated study time per week is around 5 hours, including tests and tutorials. Note that this is only an estimation, the actual study time will depend on the individual.
  • Be B1 Users/CEFR= have completed Entry level 3 or take our Placement Test

Learners: employers, employees or anyone planning to work in the business and customer services sector whose first language is not English.

  • Confidentiality and data protection

UNIT 3

  • Employment structures and business networks
  • Cultural awareness
  • Question strategies 
  • Answering the phone, booking appointments
  • Direct and reported speech
  • Speaking lesson with a tutor via our virtual classroom

UNIT 4

  • Language for meetings
  • Organise events and travel
  • Deal with complaints
  • Negotiations
  • Good business practices
  • Plan and organise writing to a specific word count

Skills: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking

Functions: ask and reply to questions, offer and advise, explain,  interrupt, give opinion, persuade, suggest, present information, interpret information and figures, use language for urgency, show preference and understanding.
